setting up your account
signing up for fort.social is quite simple! so lets go through the signup process
first, head over to social.fort1nd.com there should be a big purple button that says "signup at this instance" if your making a secondary acount head to your account switcher and click add account > create account (like this)
then, agree to the TOS and rules and set your username + password and email put a ACTUAL email as you will need it to finish signup or recover your account (we cant help you if you put a fake one in)
after that you will be sent an email to confim your account, and then you wait for a mod/admin to approve your account, this can take a couple hours or at most 2 days, if your still waiting and have not gotten an email please let us know!
make your account feel more personal
So now you're in! congratulations! Now let's make your account feel more personal. First, let's add a profile picture! If you've already completed onboarding, you probably have done this, but if you're wondering how to do it again, head over to Settings!
This is your profile; here you can change many things :p including making your account private, adding a banner/wallpaper, or showing off whatever
- click change avatar, then press update/upload. You can choose to upload from a URL or your actual machine (choose to compress if you want). It will ask if you want to crop; you can if you want, but it's not needed. Once you do that, Sharkey will automatically upload it to your user drive and apply it as your profile pic!
